Join teaching artist Simone Anthony-Brown, founder of Express Yourself Studios, LLC, for a creative evening exploring the art of mixed media collage.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll create a unique landscape-inspired artwork using painted papers, collage elements, texture, and acrylic paint. Simone will guide you through foundational mixed media techniques while encouraging experimentation, creative exploration, and your own personal artistic vision.
Inspired by nature, a favorite place, a special memory, or an imagined environment, you'll learn how to build depth and texture through layering while exploring composition, color, and visual balance. Along the way, you'll gain confidence in making creative decisions and discovering what emerges through the process.
No prior art, drawing, or painting experience is necessary—just come ready to explore, create, and enjoy an evening of art in a welcoming community setting.
During this 2-hour workshop, participants will:
Explore foundational mixed media collage techniques
Create depth and texture through layering
Experiment with painted papers, collage materials, and acrylic paint
Develop an understanding of composition and visual balance
Build confidence in creative decision-making
Create a finished mixed media landscape artwork

Prepared and specialty collage papers
Texture materials and collage elements

Adhesives
Mixed media surface
Use of all workshop tools and supplies
Whether you're new to mixed media or an experienced artist looking to explore new techniques, this workshop offers a creative and relaxing opportunity to make art, experiment, and connect in a welcoming community environment.

Adults & teens 15+ with a ticketed adult are welcome to register. No experience required.
