Embroidery Essentials | Spring Tea Towels: A Modern Intro to Hand Embroidery - South Street Gardens - Saturday, March 21st 1pm-3pm, Morristown, NJ
Think embroidery is just for pristine pillowcases and stiff samplers? Think again! We’re taking this heritage craft and giving it the Sharp & Social treatment.
Whether you haven’t held a needle since Home Ec class or you’re just looking for a creative escape from your screens, this workshop is your perfect starting point.
In this 2-hour session, We will guide you through a relaxed, modern introduction to hand embroidery. We’ll be stitching a custom Flower Bouquet pattern—designed by Erika specifically to teach you the best techniques for floral designs. We will be stitching right onto a tea towel, perfect to add to your kitchen once you complete the project!
We will cover everything you need to go from a blank piece of fabric to a finished piece of art, including the foundations and a library of stitches.
The Foundations: How to properly "dress" your hoop, transfer patterns, and prepare your floss without the tangles.
The Library of Stitches: You’ll master the Backstitch, Satin Stitch, Lazy Daisy, French Knot, and the show-stopping Woven Rose.
The best part? You get to keep everything! Your ticket includes a full beginner kit with the custom printed pattern & fabric, a wooden embroidery hoop, premium embroidery floss & needles, a needle minder and instructional guide.
We provide the supplies, the guidance, and the vibe—you just provide the hands.
Flying Solo? Please do! Many of our attendees come on their own to meet new friends, though stitching with a bestie is always welcome, too.
Age Requirement: This workshop is for adults and teens 16+. For safety reasons, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Who we are: Our Philosophy At Sharp and Social, we believe that making things with your hands is good for the brain, but making them with friends is good for the soul. In a world that is increasingly digital and disconnected, we wanted to build a space where creativity and community intersect.
We founded this club on a simple premise: we all need a place to disconnect from our screens and reconnect with each other. Whether you are here to master a complex stitch, find a moment of quiet on a Saturday morning, or simply have a laugh while your hands are busy, you have a seat at our table.
We take our craft seriously, but never ourselves. Come get sharp with us.
